Factile Alternative

The Factile alternative built for the bar

Factile is a well made Jeopardy tool for the classroom. Quizado takes the same idea into a venue: a host console, phone buzzers, teams on the big screen and a season table that survives past last orders.

The short answer

Factile is the better tool for a teacher building review games around a Jeopardy board; Quizado is the better tool for a bar or restaurant running a weekly hosted night, where the same evening needs a music round, a Family Feud segment, named teams, a display on the TV and standings that carry into next week.

Waarom Overstappen van Factile?

A classroom look on a bar TV

A review game is designed to be read from the third row of desks under strip lighting. A pub screen is read from the back of a dark room by people holding a pint.

Quizado ships big-screen themes made for that distance, and from Trivia Pro up they carry your venue logo instead of a generic board. Fonts, colours and white-label are on Hospitality Group.

One board, two hours to fill

A Jeopardy grid is a strong twenty minutes. Stretch it across a whole quiz night and the room gets restless somewhere around the second category.

Quizado puts bar trivia rounds, a Jeopardy board, a Family Feud segment and a music round in one running order, so the format changes before the crowd does.

No music round

The round a pub crowd asks for by name is the music round, and a category grid is not the shape for it.

Name That Tune questions are built in, media questions carry image, audio or video from Trivia Pro up, and Music Bingo is on Hospitality Group.

Tonight ends and the table resets

Scoring inside a single game is exactly right for a lesson. It gives a weekly venue night nothing for the regulars to chase.

Quizado leagues and seasons roll team points across weeks, so the standings on the wall are the reason a team books the same table again.

Writing the questions eats the week

A teacher writes from a syllabus. A venue host is writing fifty fresh questions a week about anything at all, on top of running a bar.

Quizado AI generation turns a topic into a bar trivia round in seconds, with monthly AI credits from Trivia Pro, and the free question packs cover the weeks you have no time at all.

Everything lives in a browser tab

One window on a school laptop is fine. Behind a bar you want the console on the device nearest your hand and the game on the TV.

Quizado runs as a desktop app on Windows, macOS and Linux, as a native app on iOS, iPadOS and Android, and as a web app, with a separate display window for the screen.

Wat Maakt Quizado Anders

Van de grond af aan gebouwd voor moderne bar trivia en live evenementen.

A host console for a loud room

Answers, buzz queue and scoring controls stay on your device. The TV gets the question, the timer and the leaderboard. You never have to turn a laptop away from the room.

Phone buzzers on the host console

The host console locks the first buzz it receives and lists the queue in order, so you can move to the next team when the first one blanks.

Five bar trivia round types

Buzzer Race, Everyone Answers, Everyone Scores, Knockout and Wager, with Music Bingo making a sixth on Hospitality Group. Change the scoring rule and a tired room wakes up without a new question set.

Family Feud next to Jeopardy

Both are host-run. You read the prompt, teams answer out loud, you award the points. Family Feud and Jeopardy are on the Hospitality Group plan.

Leagues that last a season

Run eight or twelve weeks as one competition. Teams keep their names and their points, and the table decides who is buying in the final week.

Your venue on every screen

From Trivia Pro up, your logo sits on the display and the player view, so a guest photographing the leaderboard is photographing your name. Fonts, colours and white-label are on Hospitality Group.

Factile is genuinely good at what it does

Factile is a Jeopardy game maker aimed squarely at teachers, and it shows in the best way. It lists several ways to play around the classic board: Factile itself, Choice, Interactive Choice, Memory, Self-Paced and Flashcards. There are Daily Doubles, Final Jeopardy and Double Jeopardy rounds, adjustable timers with thinking music, verbal or typed answers, and an auto-reconnect for players who drop.

The building side is well thought out too: question banks you can reuse and share with colleagues, folders to organise games by subject, CSV and Excel import, PDF upload, media on questions, embed formats, printing, and Google Classroom and Remind integrations. Players join with a game PIN or a QR code, with no download.

Pricing follows the same audience. There is a free account with a cap on custom games, and paid plans billed yearly: Home/School Basic, Home/School Plus and Business. Paid plans start at USD 48 a year (playfactile.com, checked August 2026). Plan pages move, so check their site for current pricing.

What changes when the room is a bar

A classroom game and a pub quiz look similar on paper and behave nothing alike. In a classroom the audience is captive, the lights are on, the host is standing at the front with a laptop, and the game is twenty minutes inside a lesson plan. In a venue, people can leave, the room is dark and loud, the host is also pulling pints, and the night has to hold attention for two hours.

Quizado is built for the second one. Bar trivia carries five round types so the shape of the game changes without changing product: Buzzer Race for speed, Everyone Answers so a slower table still scores, Everyone Scores for a round nobody sits out, Knockout for sudden death and Wager for a comeback finish. Music Bingo makes a sixth on Hospitality Group, alongside host-run Family Feud and Jeopardy for the weeks the room wants a proper game show.

The display is a separate window sent to the TV or projector, so the answers never leave your device by accident. Players join by scanning a QR code and play in the phone browser, with no install and no account, which matters when a table of six arrives twenty minutes late.

Buzzers, teams and the argument at the bar

Both products give players a buzzer in the browser. In Quizado the host console locks the first buzz it receives and lists the queue in order, which makes moving on to the second team a decision rather than a guess.

Teams work differently as well. A venue night is teams by default: guests join a named team, the team total is what goes on the big screen, and leagues carry those totals from week to week across a season. That is the mechanic that turns a good Tuesday into a booking, and it is not something a lesson-review tool has any reason to include.

The honest cost is that nothing works offline. The host device and the player phones both need a connection. There is no printed answer sheet fallback in Quizado, so if the back bar has a dead spot, find it on a quiet afternoon rather than at half past eight.

Who should stay, who should switch

Stay with Factile if...

For its own audience it is hard to beat, and we would not try to talk you out of it.

  • +You are a teacher and the game is part of a lesson
  • +Flashcards, Memory and Self-Paced study modes are part of why you use it
  • +Google Classroom, embedding and printing are in your workflow
  • +Shared question banks with colleagues are worth more to you than venue features

Switch to Quizado if...

The move usually happens when the game leaves the classroom and enters a venue.

  • +You are hosting in a bar, restaurant or club rather than a room of students
  • +The night needs a music round and a Family Feud segment as well as a board
  • +You want a league table that runs across a season, not one game
  • +You would rather host from a desktop or tablet app with a separate display window

How to switch in 3 steps

1

Rebuild your best board

Take the game that already works and rebuild it in Quizado. Jeopardy is on the Hospitality Group plan, and writing your own question sets starts on Trivia Pro.

2

Wrap a night around it

Add a warm-up trivia round in front and a Wager round at the end, name the teams, and push the display window to the TV. Now it is an evening rather than a segment.

3

Open a league

Start a season so tonight counts towards a table. Put the standings on the wall by the door and let the regulars argue about them for a week.

What Factile does that we do not

Factile is a teaching tool first and it beats us on that ground. Flashcards, Memory and Self-Paced modes, shareable question banks, Google Classroom and Remind integrations, embedding a game in a website and printing it out are all things Quizado has no answer for. If your room is a classroom, use theirs and enjoy it.

Veelgestelde Vragen

Yes. Jeopardy is one of the Quizado formats and it is host-run: you pick from the board, read the clue, the team answers out loud and you award the points. It sits on the Hospitality Group plan alongside Family Feud.
Quizado has a free plan with no card. It runs a full bar trivia night with the built-in starter packs, big-screen themes, live phone buzzers and up to sixteen players on one venue. Writing your own question sets starts on Trivia Pro. Paid plans lift the player cap and add media rounds, AI credits, leagues and a custom logo. Figures are on the pricing page.
Neither. They scan the QR code on the big screen and the game opens in the phone browser. No install, no signup, no queue at the door while people make accounts.
There is no direct import between the two. Quizado has bulk import on the Hospitality Group plan for a large back catalogue. For one or two games it is usually faster to retype them.
Yes. Name That Tune questions and media with audio, image or video come in from Trivia Pro, and the Music Bingo round type is on Hospitality Group. Music licensing for your venue is your responsibility, the same as for anything else you play there.
Leagues and seasons hold team points between games, from Trivia Pro up. You set up a season, run your weekly nights inside it, and the standings update automatically. That is the part a single-game scorekeeper cannot cover.
It works, but it is not what we built. There are no flashcards, no self-paced study mode, no question banks to share with colleagues and no Google Classroom link. If teaching is the job, Factile is the better fit and we would say so.
Windows, macOS and Linux desktop apps, iOS, iPadOS and Android apps, and the web app. The display goes to a TV or projector in its own window, so the host screen and the room screen are never the same thing.
