What is music bingo?

Music bingo is bingo where the numbers are songs: every team gets a card of song titles, the host plays short clips, and teams mark a title when they hear it. The first team to complete the pattern calls BINGO.

It is also called song bingo or musical bingo. Nobody has to know an answer to take part, so a music bingo night pulls in a wider crowd than a straight quiz - the room sings along and the scores look after themselves.

How to play music bingo in 5 steps

1

Build the song pool

Pick a decade, a genre or a theme and gather the songs the round will draw from.

2

Deal the cards

Every team gets a card built from that pool. Give every team the same spread, or scramble the cards so no two are alike.

3

Play the clips

Play songs from the pool in a random order and give the room long enough to recognise each one.

4

Teams mark their card

Players tap the tile on their phone, or cross it off on paper if you are running the printable version.

5

Check the BINGO call

When a team completes the pattern, check the claim against the songs that actually played, pay the prize, and play on for the next pattern.

Bingo, But the Numbers Are Songs

Music Bingo is a round type inside Bar Trivia, so it lives in the same night as your normal rounds. Instead of a running order of questions, the round holds a pool of songs. Every team gets a bingo card built from that pool.

You play tracks from the pool in a random order. Teams listen, find the song on their card and mark the tile. When a team completes the pattern in play, one of them presses the BINGO button and the room stops.

It suits the part of the night when people want to drink and listen rather than argue about capital cities. Nobody is knocked out, everybody has a card, and the room reacts to every track you play.

Build the Round

A pool of songs and a word. That is the whole setup.

1

Fill the Song Pool

Search a title or artist, paste a public playlist link, or pull straight from a music pack you already built. The songs land in one pool for the round.

2

Pick the Bingo Word

The word sets the board. Two to eight letters, one column per letter. "BIG" gives a 3x3 card and needs 9 songs. "MUSIC" gives 5x5 and needs 25.

3

Same Card or Scrambled

Same spread gives every team an identical board, so the big screen can show it and the room plays together. Scrambled shuffles each team a card of its own.

4

Choose the Ways to Win

Any line, diagonals, four corners, outer ring, full house. Turn on the ones you want and give each its own points. They run in order, one at a time.

5

Set the Clip Length

The round decides how long each song plays. Replay a track as often as the room needs - the back of the bar always misses one.

6

Save It as a Pack

The round sits in a pack with your other rounds and saves as you edit it. Run the same bingo round at your other venue next week.

On the Night

You play songs. The phones do the marking. Quizado does the judging.

Songs Come Up at Random

Your control screen holds the music dock: play, pause, restart, replay, volume and what is coming next. The next track is host-only, so nothing leaks.

Teams Mark Their Own Card

Each phone shows the bingo word as column headers and one tile per song, with the title and the artist. Tap a tile to mark it, tap again to undo.

The Big Screen Gives Nothing Away

The room sees the shared card, the pattern in play and the scores. It never shows which song is playing, what has been called, or who has marked what.

Somebody Calls BINGO

The room freezes on a "Possible BINGO" card. You get the claiming team and the tiles it marked, checked against the songs that actually played.

Valid or False, Out Loud

Reveal the verdict to the room, award the points for that pattern, and let a false call be a false call. Every team wins a given pattern only once.

Then Play for the Next One

Switch to the next pattern on the list and the same cards keep playing for bigger points. Or end the round there and move on to your next one.

It Can Even Run Itself

A bingo round marks itself, so it works in automatic mode. Switch on automatic play in the lobby, press Start, and Quizado plays the songs, judges the calls and moves to the next pattern while the teams and the patterns last. Useful for an early-evening room where nobody is standing at the mic.

How automatic play works

Music bingo app: the cards live on the phones

In the Quizado music bingo app every team opens a card in their phone browser after scanning the QR code. Tiles are marked with a tap, so there are no pens, no paper to reprint each week and no arguments about a smudged card. Quizado checks each BINGO call against the songs that really played before it pays out. Family Feud, Jeopardy and Music Bingo are on Hospitality Group.

Music bingo software for venues

Music Bingo is a round type inside Quizado, so the same music bingo software also runs your trivia rounds, your Name That Tune round and your leaderboard. One host device, one big screen, one set of teams for the whole night. Family Feud, Jeopardy and Music Bingo are on Hospitality Group.

Music bingo cards, printed or on screen

Want paper cards instead? Our free music bingo card generator turns a list of song titles into printable 5x5 cards in the browser. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored: type or paste the titles, choose how many cards you need, and print.

Music Licensing Is Yours, Not Ours

You are responsible for holding whatever music licence your venue, event or online quiz requires. Quizado does not provide, include or arrange that licence, and nothing in your subscription covers it.

Quizado matches the tracks you choose to YouTube streams and plays them through your host device. That match is a way to play the audio - it is not a licence, and it does not clear anything on your behalf. Third-party content is also subject to that platform's own terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

One per tile, so the bingo word decides it. A three letter word makes a 3x3 card and needs 9 songs. A five letter word makes a 5x5 card and needs 25. Put more songs in the pool than the card needs and the extras still get played - they are the ones nobody can mark.
No. Each team gets its card on the phone it already joined with, and marks tiles by tapping them. There is nothing to print, hand out or collect, and no arguments about a smudged pen mark at the end.
They can try. When a call comes in, Quizado checks the marked tiles against the songs that were actually played and against the pattern currently in play, then shows you the result. A claim built on songs that never played comes back as a false call, and you reveal that to the room.
Only if you want it to. After a win you can switch to the next way to win - four corners, then the outer ring, then a full house - and the same cards keep playing for more points. A team can win each pattern once. You can end the round at any point.
Your choice. Same spread gives every team the same board, which lets the big screen show it and makes the room feel like one game. Scrambled deals each team its own arrangement, so two teams rarely complete a line on the same song.
Music Bingo runs on media questions, so it is included from the Trivia Pro plan upwards. The Free and Neighborhood Pub tiers are text questions only.
